Snowflake in the shadow

26 Aug

A flash of white welcomes me into the day,

The trees sway merry in the morning breeze,

Nature plays its fervent tune

Welcoming me into its arms in eager ease

Arms spread wide I welcome thee;

An untimely snowflake dancing on my tongue.

The shadow of despair momentarily hidden yet,

Threatening to attack and leave me undone.

Spasms rack me and leave me spent,

The end of day looming near,

Black replaces white in dark fury ,

And melts the little snowflake by fear.

The day ends in its morbid dilemma ,

The answer remains a naive mystery

So why do I still long for you,

Why is this feeling so strong for you?

The answer still; a mystery.
